For the sake of role play, here is info regarding what planet is blockaded and who has what Imperial vessels nearby or in orbit.

CORUSCANT: Massively blockaded by a double layer of Imperial ships. Interior ships have tractor beams laced to prevent entry or departure in any means other than with Imperial permission. A group of dreadnaughts and super star destroyers patrol in the second, outer-most layer. The SSD flagship, Catalytic is under the auspices of Captain Sarontogo.

OBRA-SKAI: Captain Jissel aboard Todthund, Imperial dreadnaught. The planet is now blockaded by an Imperial fleet.

KHAR DELBAN SYSTEM: Captain Landarian aboard the Imperial flagship Relentless, leads a massing reconnaissance group to "keep tabs" on this otherwise uncharted portion of space. Generally speaking, incoming ships are allowed entry. Out-going are tractored automatically. They "haunt" a sector of space just beyond the sensor range of 99% of all craft, in the Z-axis of the Khar Delban system. (Think "up" above the plane of the planets' orbits.)

Update: as of July 16, 2003, the planets of Khar Delba and K'eel Doba are officially blockaded by Imperial ships led by the flagship Relentless.

TATOOINE: Major General Ahem aboard Sormontato leads a large group of support SSDs, star destroyers, transports and carriers, and troops numbering into the tens of thousands. This large blockade is the source for the mediating ground battalion Lt. General Tarnus has set up in response to the development of the New Jedi Praxeum on this desert planet. It is appropriately large due to its remote location in the Outer Rim.

Okay, that's all I can come up with at the moment. If there are any others you have run across, please contact me and I'll put them here. (hehe... too many blockades and so on!!!) Oh yes, the planet (coordinates unknown except to Imperials) Ambria hosts the Imperial shipyards, and is the Empire's original High Command Center. Thus it is heavily blockaded as well.

Other lesser planets are likewise patrolled by Imperial ships, of course, but none have been actively named yet. The ones above are the important blockade/ships/captains/ etc. So to all role players, just don't think you can sky into a planetary system without at least making mention of a patrolling Imperial ship. That was Admiral Actar's modus operandi, after all.

Update: The SSD Sormontato, with General Ahem in charge, has come from Tatooine to Sullust on the trail of Aelly Ssyn: the CEO of Dark Star Corp, a corporation which the Empire has come to believe is a front for the notorious Black Sun syndicate. Upon arrival, relations between him and Ssyn escalated; he captured her dreadnaught, but she escaped. Following her ion trail, Sormontato came to where it was abruptly truncated by another ion trail, which they then followed to its destination: Sullust.

General Ahem and Sormontato come to Sullust, to try to piece together what is happening, still on the trail of Aelly Ssyn, per the orders of Lt. General Sorben Tarnus, who is still in Khar Delban space.

Just a head's up, everyone. Khar Delba and K'eel Doba are blockaded heavily, and in the same manner as is Coruscant. The Relentless, captained by Landarian, is the ship holding the visiting Lt. General Sorben Tarnus and is in high orbit around Khar Delba, in case this was unclear.

Thank you.

How fast do you think we can scrap up a fleet to unblockade Coruscant? We'll need some capital ships, and a damn large amount of fighters...

any takers?

Sorry to be rude, but I'd laugh at you if you tried. It's kind of pointless. First of all, you can't take any movies really as a true testament to how powerful the Empire really is. They had to lose because of the all-powerful rule in 99% of the movies: the good guy always wins.

That said, you's have to mass a fleet about twice as powerful as the New Republic had in order to successfully take out that blockade, followed by protecting it. And I'd be careful, because the Empire is getting some sith technology very soon if things work out for me...

How fast? As fast as you can logically role-play it, I'm betting. Which probably means a reeeeeeeeeeally long time.

How well do you understand physics? Or at least a reasonable fascimile thereof? The blockade around Coruscant is double thick, with laced tractor beams. It's gonna take some mighty huge fleet -- and just where is this mighty huge fleet going to come from? Doesn't exist anywhere on the boards to date; this story has been going on over four years now -- to topple what's around Coruscant.

At this point may I mention the importance of character development over "slam bam hit 'em up blast away fight fight fight?" The latter gets really boring and is really moot as on these boards you can't kill another character without the written permission of the character's author. You can't just pop up with a huge fleet from nowhere and lambast the Coruscant blockade; others have tried this and that over time, and so far there's only one way to sneak through.

Hehe... no more Sith ships available, sorry. So put on your thinking cap, and as Mara1Jade said, see if you can figure out a logical way to reach your goal of toppling the Coruscant blockade. I guarantee it can't be done in one post; we try to be realistic here.

Yeah, plus thigns have not worked out for me. Oh well. It would take them a while to get a good number of ships, but right now the Empire has two sith fighters, don't they? There's one they're trying to learn the secrets about, and they have mine...still, a few of those things could be devastating to a capital ship...

UPDATE: As of this date the blockade around the Khar Delban system, with the lone exception of the flagship Relentless, has been destroyed. See the thread Destiny Uncertain in the "Jedi/Sith" forums for details...
