OK, folks, there's a HUMONGOUS sunspot group on the face of the sun right now, heading to it's equatorial region where these things tend to flare out from. This is bigger than fifteen earth diameters, and holds the potential for another X-Class solar flare (the biggies). If and when this should happen, and dependent upon the direction in which it flares, we might stand a good chance of another wonderful auroral display in latitudes fairly south.
