A chronotic shield is a warpage in spacetime, which can only be implemented by the use of the All. It is not entirely an energy field but a "warping" of the spacetime fabric both forward and backward into time. It allows NO energy or matter of ANY KIND through it: any energy is dispersed backward and forward in time, and any matter is converted into its equivalent energy state and likewise dispersed. A planet blanketed by a chronotic shield is thus basically "cut off" from existence, so to speak; a "void" exists where it is hidden, unable to receive so much as the light coming to it from its own star.

Chronotic shields, as mentioned, cannot be raised or lowered by any others than those using the All CORRECTLY: their development has to have justification by some "greater picture" other than merely just the immediate whims of the personage who erected it.

These are completely impervious to any "regular" Force users: Jedi use the Force from the standpoint of "good" only, and the Dark users from that of "evil."

Chronotic shields can be thus used only in a defensive manner... unless one has the Claw of S'slan. Then, as can any aspect of the All, one could be used aggressively against another, as a Dark Jedi uses the Force for evil.
