Ok, this is going back some years...

Galen Jhin'Dar was left for dead by her sister (the newly arisen "Graysith") on a mysterious planet where her father was excavating a Sith find (he was subsequently murdered at the site by Graysith, who then took off in the family ship). At the site of the dig, the abandoned Galen figured out how to operate one of several enigmatic Sith fighter ships being uncovered (see "Jester" in "Ships"). Inside this little ship she found and donned the equally enigmatic Sith flightsuit, along with an accompanying belt.

The Sith flightsuit is a black one-piece, form-fitting suit, and is made from a strange "light eating" material, with a seamless closure. It includes a wide belt upon which weaponry can be connected, easily and without any apparent holster. On the belt are three buttons; one when pressed creates a light-bending field around the wearer which effectively makes him or her invisible. This extends about ten meters or so (I'd have to check on the actual diameter); thus while in space it is a handy device to use in conjunction with a sith fighter, which is a small ship, making the wearer and ship a black blot against the stars and thus difficult to see; in a more "worldly" environment it would create an unnatural distortion in the molecules of the wearer's surroundings, whatever those might be.

One of the other two buttons creates a mental bond between the pilot (who usually is the one to wear the flight suit) and his quasi-intelligent biocybernetic ship; the other generates a negative magnetic field around the wearer while creating a positive one where desired. Used in conjunction with small side thrusters the wearer can "suspend" himself above the ground and move smoothly through the air. This field can also be generated to deflect anything in the way of light arms electromagnetic weaponry up to heavy blaster rifles. (Solid bullets, of course, can pass directly through the field.)

It is said even the jedi's lightsaber has a tough time connecting when this magnetic field is engaged.

So far, Galen is only aware of the belt's light-bending "invisibility" capability.
