This technology can not only submit a fake identification for a ship, but also allows that ship to send the emissions of the vessel it is claiming to be. This is accomplished by shifting the gravity signature of the ship (which was actually done in "Rebel Dream" and "Rebel Stand"). By EVERY APPEARANCE, the emissions/gravity signature the ship is sending matches the false identification it is transmitting.In order for the technology to work there really has to be a ship out there matching the false identification you are sending (this is where you will get the emissions/gravity signature. The user of the technology may choose to have the ship who's signature he has stolen destroyed (making his ship the sole bearer of said emissions) or he may create a ruse and place the overlay on several ships (this way, the ship that the emissions truly belong to would be next to impossible to locate, since there would be more than one out there).
Eagle Enterprises and their allies are the only ones who have/know of this technology.
