Background: The first time the Jabiimites encountered Jedi was during the Clone Wars in a battle that placed them on opposite sides. The war left Jabiim devastated for years, during and after the reign of the Galactic Empire. Much blame was placed on Jedi for that, and hatred still remained for them after the Academy was established...

As a result when Raye Starr began to show signs of the Force in his childhood, the other children rejected and feared him, leaving him alone and isolated. Yet his powers were detected by a Jedi Master, and he put his own life in danger as he traveled to Jabiim and approached Raye's family if he could teach their son.

Naturally, his parents were against this...but were not too blinded by their hate to see Raye would never grow up with the "normal life" of a Jabiimite, and that his abilities with the Force could be used to help others.

And so Raye was taken to the Jedi Praxeum to be taught the ways of the Force. He became a superb swordsman among his classmates and wielded the Force with an ease that raised some questions about the Jabiimite...

Indeed, many of the Jedi Masters felt the Force was unusally strong for Raye...

When Raye became a Jedi Knight, he was sent on a mission with five others to the Outer Rim territories, where a seemingly unimportant planet to the Republic reported that they were under attack by an unknown alien invader.

Raye and the other Jedi were sent in to resolve the situation...

...and were never seen or heard from since. There were no communication reports or anything; just silence after the Jedi departed. When the Empire returned, the Republic were unable to send another team to investigate...
