Planet of Origin: RylothFrom near the border between the eternally light and the side of Ryloth forever cast in shadow hails Rhyka’anar, a male Twi’lek. He and his mother lived oppressed by his abusive father in a small hut on the fringes of the Bright Lands of the planter near the ryll mine the disgraceful man worked. Rhy would often travel to the dark half of the planet--resulting in his bright blue Rutian skin to become a light pale blue--to escape his fathers beatings, and the tears that flowed from his mothers face, which hurt immeasurably worse.
On one of these trips, when he was eleven, Rhy discovered a Twi’lek sitting cross-legged on a rock. Little did Rhy know this green skinned being with a rare four lekku was a Jedi who had fled the Order. Ignorant as well Rhy was to his sensitivity to the Force. The Jedi, feeling this affinity took the boy into training. As he himself had only been a padawan, training Rhy to use the Force would be too difficult, but training him with a lightsaber could prove useful.
Rhy returned to the man every day, training with a quarterstaff before, on his fifteenth birthday, he was given a lightsaber. That night he returned home to slay his father, who unluckily had mining friends over. Realizing that though he had a lightsaber, the numbers were too great, so he fled and thus learned of his Force powers. In his fear the Force surged through him, forcing his body forward. His body pressed on, three times the speed of a normal sprint. After relating these events to the Jedi, his Force training began.
Four years it took him just to get the basics. Grasping the Force came easily now; molding it to do what he wanted was difficult. Rhy could pulse it through his body fairly easily. Jumping extreme lengths and heights, “flying” short distances, running at great speeds, to name a few. But anything farther than a foot or two from him seemed unreachable. By this time, however, he had surpassed his master. With nothing left to learn on Ryloth, he headed for Kala'uun Starport, looking to stowaway on the first ship he could find.
