The researchers refused, however, to destroy their life's work, and erased #19's memory, gave him a sentient and independent mind than a programmed one, and sent him on the next transport to Coruscant. They were later executed for their disobedience.

Romanus woke up with false childhood memories (including his name), and was later conscripted into the Imperial Army. He was kicked out no less than a year after assaulting a superior officer during a (drunken) argument over who had bed rights with a Twi'lek dancing girl.

Eventually, Romanus's memories returned to him, and after traveling to the research base where he was created, discovered his identity (and his lightsaber). Instead of denying his existence, Romanus actually embraced the fact he was a replicant of one of the greatest Jedi in history...and he was going to have some fun with that.

Believing that the Sith's ranks were too restrictive, Romanus felt his true calling was being a freelance assassin...

To distinguish him from the host, Romanus's physically appearance was altered to confuse enemy intelligence as to his origin (So he looks TOTALLY DIFFERENT from Anakin Skywalker). Looks as if he is in his mid-20s, with a completely shaved head save for a goatee (complete with earrings). Wears a black trench coat rather than a Jedi robe, in which he conceals several throwing weapons (knives, poison darts, etc.) Also carries a green-bladed lightsaber. To anyone, Romanus would look nothing more than a ruthless thug. A small tattoo of the number 19 is on the back of his neck...

Romanus is very strong in the Dark Side of the Force, yet he concentrates it more defensively than offensively. He uses it to perfect his skills with the saber, and his accuracy with other weapons (the knives, for example). He rarely uses his offensive power, and only as a last ditch effort.

He is very arrogant, cocky, and extremely cruel in his objectives.
He is twice as strong if roused to anger. Very fond of women, and shows interest in learning about the Sith (he steals books) and rumours of their resurrection.
