The Sith were a race of magickal beings who once were so powerful that they literally controlled the Galaxy with their magicks. Being a magickal race, they needed strong leadership: this was obtained from the Three Dark Lords of the Clans. The Dark Lord of the Warrior Clan was in charge of defense and offense, and policing the population. The Dark Lord of the Weaponry Clan was in charge of creating weapons, armaments, and everyday items -- in addition this Lord's clan created the magickal items used by the sorcerer's clan. The Dark Lord of the Sorcerer's Clan was in charge of the highest magicks, and acted as judge and jury for those committing infractions.

As with any powerful peoples over time, they degraded, and at length were killed by the invading Dark Jedi, who stole a bit of their magicks to use themselves. (Palpatine, Vader and Maul were Dark Jedi, for example, NOT Sith, which is a race of beings.) The Dark Jedi then took the name "Sith" unto themselves.

The Sith were a noble and magnificent people. Their skin was red, and they sported horns of all shapes, sizes and number on their heads. Their hands bore claws; other than those traits, they were human in appearance and extremely attractive to other species. Most stood at six feet tall or taller, and covered themselves with tattooes of their clans.

They lived primarily on four different worlds: Khar Delba, K'eel Doba, Koris'ian and Korriban, but it is rumored that they had smaller outposts here and there throughout the galaxy. The were killed off entirely 4,000 years ago: those who have made it into the future times one way or another are Aelvedaar, Lord Recinis, Dark Lord Roan, and Freedon Naad (see character descriptions), and Master Rean, who was killed.

Currently Graysith, the Chosen Daughter of the Sith, her "Sire," Aelvedaar, her husband Lord Recinis, and their companions are working on a magick prophecied to bring back the entire Sith civilization from its untimely demise (see story synopsis).

Please note: The Ancient Sith have been "registered" for the sole purpose of writing for Sith in general (to move the story along more easily). As such this particular "character" does not fall under the role playing "death rule." Ie: it is not intended that just because "The Ancient Sith" are now registered, that Sith NPCs cannot be killed.

Thank you.

((Regarding a touch of Sith history )

The three clans of the Sith arose at a point far their smoky past, the segregation thereof being a natural result, over time, of the inborn magickal abilites of each individual Sith. Some, genetically speaking, were stronger than others in the use of their inherent magickal powers, while others were more adept in things involving physical prowess. Thus it was that those, having had been determined by the ancient, pre-Triumvirate Council of Elders to possess tendencies toward a particular trait, in those early days were apprenticed into separate guilds. This process gradually changed over the course of history in that the guilds slowly developed into the three clans; gradually the appointments ceased and the Sith began to rely upon lineage alone -- what clan they had been "born into" -- to ascertain the clan membership of their young.

Thus it was that the Sorcerer's clan arose from segregating the Sith who were naturally adept in the wielding of their magicks, while the Warrior's arose from those who were physically strong, with more of a natural military bent in both their mind and spirit.

The Armorers, however... here the lines of obvious separation grow blurred. They too needed the mindset of the warriors, thus to more clearly understand what weapons would be of best use in the protection of the clans and the general populace. On the other hand, they needed strong magickal abilities, that such weaponry could indeed be created and empowered.

So they have both the magickal abilities of the sorcerers (not at so high a level as the Dark Lord, but up there) as well as the cunning and precision of a warrior (not, perhaps, their physical strength or endurance).
