Once a Jedi who turned to the Dark Side and roamed the Outer Rim, Stryker (an alias, not his Jedi name) re-appeared on Corellia to start a private investigation business. He kept his identity mysterious, and used his front men, Seti Raakin and Jazelle Corona, to interface with his clients and the outside galaxy. When he started his business 15 years ago, he vowed to no longer use the Force consciously, except to conceal himself and preserve his life. He fears using it will hurt those around him or suck him back into the Dark Side. His work was confined to the private sector and did not get involved with military conflicts or attempt to threaten the new Empire. He is fiercly loyal to those few he loves and will protect them at any cost.

Jazelle left Stryker's service when he reunited with a lost Jedi love, Syria Daan, whom he eventually married, but secretly. Before they married, Syria brought him his own son Jakob, for protection after an attempt on the Jedi apprentice's life. The Jedi gave Jakob his father's last name, Renard, to keep his connection to Syria Daan disguised. Until then Stryker had no knowlege of Jakob Renard. Jakob later died, rumored killed by his own master, Paul Arrakeen.

Stryker was last seen on Corellia, but now takes his retirement residence elsewhere. His Jedi birth name of Renard was not used in his business dealings, but the Imperials had his official identification recorded as Stryker Renard due to a mixup with his property and licenses when he officially changed his name.
