Yaoksi Joao is from the planet Jaemus, in the Jaemus system, home of the famous Jaemus shipyards. Both his parents are employed by the shipyards: his mother holding an engineering doctorate, and his father being a high-level executive there. The combination of being raised in an environment where he was given every opportunity to "spread his wings," and "expand his personal paradigms," and the above-average intelligence he inherited from his parents, produced a young man with a driving curiosity as well as determination to rove the Galaxy rather than "fall into" a position within the shipyards. When a confiscated Marauder-class corvette came to the shipyards for repair, he managed to "appropriate" it, and took off to see what he could see. Running from the authorities for this blatant thievery, he found himself falling into the smuggling arena, an "occupation" he found himself having a natural affinity for. His corvette, the "Devil-May-Care," is his pride and joy; it has been modified to carry hidden goods, has a highly strengthened hyperdrive, double-shielding, proton-emmitters, eight turbo-lasers, and three tractor beam projectors. It is fit to carry twelve Imperial fighters, but only bears two at the time, the "Bee" and "WannaBee."Yaoksi is 32 years old, stands about 6" tall, and has deep auburn hair prematurely streaked with silver. His eyes are a deep and vibrant green; he has an imposing physique from constant workouts, and a deep tan from being exposed to the radiation of one sun after another. He is proficient in handling blasters, bowcasters and similar weaponry, but his hand-to-hand fighting skills leave something to be desired. He has a winning smile, a sense of humor, and the ability to be fiercely loyal... once he finds someone or something to be loyal to. At the moment he is unattached... although his past is sprinkled with many a lass....
