The young warrior sat within his quarters thinking. He had been told he would receive a mission of great importance and that he must now go out and put his training to the test. Feeling a bit nervous the sith stood and paced about his room, then sat and began focusing his mind, allowing calm to settle within him.
He was Recinis Q’utaro, the first son of Anrek Q’utaro, the great warrior of the sith. Recinis had been taken to the planet of Khar Delba shortly after his birth, and had remained there for up to this very moment. The legends of his father had been told to him in his spare time, and so he grew learning of the greatness of his family’s name.
Just then someone came to the door of his room and beckoned him. He stood and followed the messenger that had been sent to guide him. He would see the sorcerer today, the great being that ruled the temple, and was the reason for Recinis being on Khar Delba. Recinis was lead down the corridors of the temples for some time; the messenger taking him through passages that he had never traveled before, and didn’t even realize had existed.
They soon approached a massive door that was inscribed with sith runes, the trademark of the mighty sorcerer that ruled over them. The messenger then pressed a small device against the door, after which the runes began pulsating, within seconds they had grown into a fiery glow, and a second later, the door simple vanished within the light. The man then stepped forward and walked through the light, Recinis instinctively followed suit.
Upon stepping through the runes stopped glowing, and the door stood intact, though Recinis hardly took note of this, to amazed by the being that sat in chair at the head of the room.
The sith had great tall horns that came from the top of his head, the mans eyes glowed a strange blue, as if fueled by an inner fire. Upon seeing that his guest had entered the sith stood, revealing that he was somewhere along the lines of 7 feet tall. The sorcerer’s presence was a great one, and just by viewing him, all questions of how this one sorcerer came to rule the rest of the planet vanished.
Within the room there were several other sith sitting at smaller chairs to the great sorcerers side, the great sith quickly ordered them to leave, simply by lifting a hand in there direction. The messenger that had before lead Recinis had also gone, leaving through the door once again, which Recinis could only guess was glowing, so entranced was he by the presence of the sorcerer.
The great sorcerer beckoned Recinis towards a lard table, which he then sat at, awaiting Recinis to follow suit. Sitting down at the opposite end of the table, Recinis slowing began regaining his composer.
Suddenly the great sith spoke “I am Erivan, you are now among the select few that know that name…” just then Recinis realized that for all his life, he had not known the name of the great being within the temple. “You have been raised and trained here because your father was a great man, his death was unfortunate, he himself had done tasks for me many times. If you prove yourself worthy, you shall take on a great quest in the future, but you must first test yourself in true combat. I have an assignment for you, it is on K'eel Doba”
Recinis looked at the Erivan for a moment then nodded. “What must I do?” The sorcerer then looked at him and smiled a strange smile, then said “demons have come forth from a place unknown, and are attacking the people on K’eel Doba, they don’t stand a chance, you must fight, and save them…” the sorcerer then arose and walked over to a small shelf, he then took out a bundle of cloth and gave it to Recinis. “Those were your fathers, though I made a few improvements on the weapons…” Recinis opened the cloth, realizing that it was a robe of the Q’utaro clan, within there was a staff, and a sword, both covered in sith runes. “the magic’s they hold you must discover for yourself” the man then beckoned Recinis to a wall that held a small door way, placing a hand against it, the door began to glow, the sorcerer then beckoned Recinis to make haste.
Recinis stepped through the portal without hesitation, the robe now worn, and the weapons now in place. Instantly he found himself on another planet. -K’eel Doba- he though to himself. Instantly he figured out where the trouble was, there was shouting everywhere, people were scrambling to get away from something.
Recinis instinctively headed in the opposite direction of the rest of the people. As he passed few noticed him, though those that did gasped as they noticed the symbol he wore on his clothing. Some even went as far to mutter “Q’utaro…has returned!” Ignoring them Recinis moved on, until finely he found what he was looking. A mass of warriors stood in combat with strange creatures.
-They are not doing well- the thought to himself slowly. -I must help! - As the thought was finished off came Recinis’ robe, revealing his combat cloths beneath, revealing the weapons he held secretly within. Recinis raced towards the creatures, he assumed were demons, with unbelievable speed, and determination, his training taking hold of him, his fathers legacy guiding him.
As he approached the monster, his staff became unsheathed, the action happening so fast that it was as if it simply vanished and appeared in Recinis’ hands. Recinis then unleashed the weapon upon the demon, the hard wood slamming against the creature several times, distracting it from its current victim.
The demon turned about to eye Recinis in confusion, Recinis then unleashed three more blows to the demon. The demon moved with amazing speed them, bringing his tail forth, and striking at Recinis with it, Recinis avoided the blows, noticing as he did that the tail was poisoned. Realizing the danger the tail possessed towards him, Recinis switched to his sword.
Releasing the sword upon the demon Recinis felt a strange energy within his palms, the runes upon the blade began to glow as the blade approached the demon, the demon attempted to dodge, but Recinis was to swift, the blade severed the tail of the thing instantly, the glowing runes somehow assisting in the blades attack.
The demon howled in pain as it felt its barbed tail being removed from it, then hissed an evil oath towards the strange warrior that had suddenly appeared to do battle with it. “Ssssooooo…” it hissed its drool coming from its mouth as his wickedly sharp teeth were shown to the warrior “you think you can defeat me??” the words came forth like venom.
Recinis looked upon the pitiful creature with utter distaste; he then brought forth the blade once more, attempting to will the strange affect through the runes once more, to which the blade easily complied. This time though, the magic had no target, for the demon proved to be swift, even while missing a tail.
Looking about Recinis could not seem to find the demon, though something within him seemed to scream at him of its presence, suddenly his instincts took over, just in time to see a wicked claw slash at his back, and somehow manage to avoid it.
Instantly Recinis turned his defense into an offense, shifting his weight and bringing the sword about in a strong, swift, deadly motion, and severed the strange creatures head with eyes, the blades magic seeming to feed upon the energy the demon possessed within him.
Recinis then looked about him, searching for further distress among the people, though everything seemed to be in place, besides the screaming of those that had not seen, and the cheering of those who had. -He said demons, where are the others?- he thought to himself, and then suddenly he heard something, spinning and dodging just in time to avoid the barbed tail of yet another demon who had somehow managed to sneak up on him.
The demon now attacking him unleashed an unearthly scream of delight as it charged for him, teeth dripping with drool. This time the claws were what came forth, but recinis was ready, and managed to dodge them. The demons tail then came towards him, and he just barely managed to dodge the strange attack before he realized… To late the claw slashed deeply across his chest, leaving a huge gash, which now bled freely.
The demon howled in glee and seemed to mock the warrior as he slowly licked the blood from his fingers “yesss.” It hissed evilly “you shall make a fine meal…or chew toy at least…” it then unleashed a wicked laugh, the sound of which filled the wounded warrior with a strange form of terror.
Recinis fought the continuing urges to simply give into the pain and die, the gaze he held on his chest was deep, though he had only a basic knowledge of medical information, he knew there was not much chance he would survive the well placed blow.
Within him an inner fire seemed to ignite, while not sure of himself, the pain suddenly began to melt away, and a small voice that had once been his strongest bit of determination screamed at him –survive- it told him, simply at first, and with every second of the mocking laughter he had to endure, the inner voice seemed to grow in determination, and strength, -YOU MUST SURVIVE! - It screamed at him, the pain now but a distant memory.
The young warrior then raised his blade, the sith runes glowing as fiercely as the siths brilliant green eyes. The demon looked at him in confusion, the pleasure of toying with his “pray” had gone to its head…and now it would pay the price. The blade flashed out in several spectacular movements, the glow of the runes blurring the motion, making it difficult to tell where the blade was, and where was simply an after image of the amazing weapon.
Within a manner of seconds the amazing spectacle had confused the demon into making a mistake, a mistake that indeed had indeed its life. The blade flashed out, and cut the strange creature in half, once again the strange blade of Recinis’ feeding upon the energy within very fabric of the beast.
With the immediate threat gone Recinis’ pain returned ten fold, and he soon passed out from the strain of his concentration, cool blackness covering his pain. The dark seemed to welcome his thoughts, though he was not sure if he was dead, or simply asleep.
