The trade ship was not so bad, Taehun thought. Although its main purpose was to sell goods, like any other trading vehicle, the ship was like a self-sustained city. Unbeknownst to the ignorant Taehun, the ship was one of the larger ships used to trade. Temporary living quarters were available for those who were willing to pay the price. There were also restaurants, game rooms, and of course, a bar. This was where Taehun spent most of his time. He had no money to eat at a restaurant, much less rent a room. So, he spent his days observing the strange characters that walked around in the bar (where the food was always free) and when he became tired he found a quiet corner in the one of the corridors of the ship to sleep in.

Today was no different. As he walked to the bar he wondered how much longer it would take to get to Mos Espa. Mos Espa? He didn’t even know whether it was even close to his home. In fact, Taehun had never left his homeworld as a child, until forced off because of the ‘demon’ that possessed him. Taehun finally reached the bar, which was marked by a green neon sign. As he entered he took notice of the patrons in the bar. There, sitting in one corner, was a Zabrak conversing with a Wookie over a drink. His eyes wandered to the opposite corner of the bar, and saw a robed humanoid. This person was a usual patron, and had sat in the same spot staring at the same table for over a week. “Is it human?” he thought. There was no way to tell, as the figure was surrounded by their black cloak from head to foot. The only marked deviation from the black clothes this person wore was a single metallic rod that hung on its belt. Taehun wondered what kind of decoration the rod was as he found an empty stool and sat down with a sigh. He reached for the nut bowl, only to have his wrist grabbed by a bony hand. Taehun looked up to see the bartender staring back at him with large, unblinking eyes. “Paying customers only” the bartender hissed. Taehun protested while pointing at the wall, “The sign says that the peanuts are free!” The bartender withdrew his hand, faced the sign, and took it off. He flipped it over and hung it back on the wall. Taehun’s mouth opened in disbelief as he read the sign. It was marked “Peanuts for paying customers only”

He couldn’t believe it. He had come so far to escape persecution, only to be hated here as well. The anger swelled in him as he stared at the bartender. The bartender matched his stare, and leaned close to his face. “Do we have a problem?” Suddenly, Taehun stood up and grabbed the barstool he was sitting on. With one swift blow, the bartender was laying on the floor with the broken stool on the floor nearby. Taehun looked over at the Wookie to see that his blaster was pointed at him. Purely on instinct, Taehun reached his hand out, and the blaster suddenly was pulled out of the Wookie’s hand, falling to the floor. Taehun almost stooped to pick it up when he realized what he had done. He had just exposed his “illness” to all the patrons of the bar. He slowly stood up, and looked around, only to find that everyone was staring at him, all conversations gone silent. He quickly ran out of the bar.

How could he do this? What a fool he had made of himself! He was sure that as soon as he was found he’d be kicked off the ship. He found a dark corridor and turned into it, only to find that it was a dead end. He collapsed in despair, and put his hands to his face, and began to sob. He simply couldn’t do anything right. His sobs began to grow, when he heard footsteps approaching him. The single light in the hallway revealed that his pursuer was clothed in a black robe…it was the bar patron! The fear in Taehun grew as he looked up, once again noticing the metallic rod on the belt of the dark figure. The pursuer finally stopped not two feet in front of Taehun, and simply stood there. Taehun asked, “What do you want from me?”

Many years passed since that fateful day...

OCC: Sounds interesting, but you are going to have to merge your character's plotline with the existing story. Lots of people have done this so it can be done, but since everything in every forum is happening simultaneously this is happening against all of our stuff that is already occuring (Therefore most characters are already occupied and may not bump into you for some time...you'll probably have to bump into them eventually. PM me if you have questions. Check the rules and how-to and read some of the most recent threads.

He was Taehun, formerly part of a secretive Order of Jedi outcasts thought to have disappeared. Many years had passed since the chance meeting between him and his Master, one of the outcasts who had recognized his special “talents” and took him in as his own apprentice to add to the ranks of the Order. The Order had no name, for there was no need of one.

It was started by a rogue Jedi long ago in the time of the Old Republic. This was a time when there was open war between the Jedi and Sith, the legendary dark force practitioners. Perhaps, had he been born in an era filled with less strife, his Order would have been much more successful. However, this was not to be. He was a radical to many, but his ideals did make sense to a select few. This particular Jedi theorized that in order for complete harmony, one must strive to balance both the dark and light sides of the force. By using only the dark side, one would be far too apt to use the force for evil purposes, whereas the light side often blinded the Jedi that used it solely. Thus, it only made sense that to achieve order, the dark and light must be brought together. This Jedi was quickly considered tainted by the dark side, and thus, cast out from the Jedi temple.

He knew that both the Sith and the Jedi would quickly stomp out his Order if it grew too large. Thus, he searched the entire galaxy for an apprentice, a young one who could be taught the truth of the force. The apprentice would require total guidance for quite some time, so as to prevent any side of the force taking control over the harmony that existed within him. This Jedi eventually found his apprentice, and taught him and guided him… And so, the Order continued on for quite some time, taught from one Outcast to one apprentice. Ironically, this method of continuing his Order was exactly how the Sith continued to survive, and was similar in how the Jedi survived the clutches of Darth Vader.

The Jedi who had reared Taehun in the ways of the force was such a Jedi. Unfortunately for Taehun, he was an old man, and already well along in his years. Thus, after less than three years of training and guidance, Taehun was forced to continue his journey of the force alone. Early on, this seemed to be no problem, as his Master had left several books and tomes of knowledge of the force. However, without a master’s guidance, Taehun soon became enamored with the legends of the Sith and the power that the dark side of the force promised. His thoughts soon turned to vengeance…yes, he would have his revenge on those who forced him out of his own home. Because of this, when one of the final tests came and Taehun followed his Master’s instructions on creating a lightsaber, he didn’t seem to mind that it was a deep red, the color of anger and passion. Taehun…had become a dark Jedi.

Many years passed since the completion of his self-training. Everything had gone well, and he fully realized that he was capable of great power and destruction. As he approached the cockpit of his starship, aptly named Vengeance, Taehun smirked, causing the lined tattoos on his face to move slightly. Taehun looked back at the shopkeeper, his body lying limp on the ground, his neck broken, but not bruised. “What a waste…” Taehun thought. He’d have to leave Nar Hutta soon, for the death of the shopkeeper would soon be known, and Taehun didn't want any more nuisances. Where was he going? Even Taehun himself did not know this. He only hoped that the dark side would guide him to wherever he was needed.
