Hey guys, hehe....

Just in case anyone has noticed my sudden absence or anything, I want to let you know I'm still here and well. I'm doing some disk cleanup and defragging and so on, and it's taking forever because -- my bad -- I haven't done this forever!

Either that, or there's something wrong with my cleanup.

I tried to post last night from the ancient computer I have at Drake (worthless) but the durn thing was JUST TOO SLOW. Now I am using a public access one in our local library.

Scoop is, if in a couple hours, or by later tonight the defragging and such is STILL sitting on 0-1% I will officially give up and seek assistance. Maybe someone out there can give me an idea as to why this is taking SO LONG.

OK, I just wanted to let you all know I'm alive.

Hmmmm. Maybe you have some errors that your defrag program can't deal with? Mine usually fixes errors if it can, but I have run into some impossible errors before.

And then again, I'm not a major computer expert.

Glad to know you are still alive and kickin', and hope your problem doesn't last too long...

Maybe your screensaver was left on, and everytime it kicks in, your defrag program has to start over because you've got new data on the computer.

I'm back, and heck with this defrag stuff. I just settled for cleaning the disk.

Just trying to clear up some stuff. Too much memory being used, and I end up freezing up and so on.

I may be able to help, that happend to me once, what you need to do is to restart your cpu and turn of your screensaver and all other programs that run on a schedule *eg norton*, then clean the disk and then try defrag again.
