Duath was born as a result of Sauron raping his mother. When the Dark Lord learned of his child he sought to destroy both the Duath and his mother, who had stolen one of the dwarfish rings of power. The two fled Mordor and took refuge in Fangorn forest. There the young man grew up there, raised by the peaceful ents. He learned much of the ancient lore of the land but was denied knowledge of his heratige. On one of his many journeys through the forest Radagast the Brown met the young Duath, the Valar was startled by the young man’s intelligence and aptitude for sorcery and taught him a small amount of magic as well as how to talk to beasts. Duath went to Isengard with Radagast when it came time to decide what to do about Dol Guldur. Duath’s mother left Fangorn to find Thrain and prevent him from being captured by Sauron’s Nazgul (ringwraiths). She is slain by a Nazgul and her ring is taken, however the Nazgul’s mount is killed in battle and the ringwraith is stuck in Dunland. Duath learns of his mother’s death and in a fit of rage leaves Radagast to pursue the ringwraith through Moria. He gets lost in the lower level’s of the caverns and meets Durin’s Bane, the Balrog, the two fight and Duath narrowly escapes with his life. He manages to climb the endless stairway to the top of Moria, there he lays near death. He is rescued by Gwathir Windlord the eagle king and is borne back to Isengard where Radagast heals him. Though he is not grotesque looking, he is covered in minor scars that not even the wizard could get rid of. Duath was sent from Isengard to Loth Lorien where he lives for a time in Galadriel’s kingdom. While in Lorien he learns of his lineage and becomes more resolved than ever to destroy Sauron. To this end he decides to seek the ring of power and use its power against his father. Galadriel councils him against this but he disregards her advise. She realizes she will not be able to dissuade him from this course of action and so gives him an elven cloak and sword and sends him on his way.[ 12-29-2002 12:32 PM: Message edited 1 time, lastly by Rathal ] -------------------- My Characters: Rathal, Narcolm, Freedon Naad "You'll never see the end of the road while your traveling with me."
