Ulfhak the Scourge

An Orc from the Iron Hills, Ulfhak was given the title "The Scourge" for the ruthless destruction he sowed on the warring Orc tribes. After Sauron was vanquished, the orcs fought each other to fill the void of power the Dark Lord left behind. Their strife forced many tribes to migrate to distant parts of Middle Earth. Ulfhak's tribe battled many others for control of the Iron Hills, north of the Rhovanion region, for centuries.

Throughout his life, Ulfhak knew only war. If it was not with the other tribes, it would be with his own people. The Orc became such a famed (and feared) warrior of the Iron Hills that no creature helped the Chieftain of the tribe when Ulfhak cut off his head.

The day he became Chieftain, Ulfhak issued an ultimatum to the other tribes: Surrender or die. Some joined Ulfhak; others killed his messengers. As a result, the Orc civil war in the Iron Hills would end within a year as Ulfhak butchered his own race.

Over a dozen tribes were eradicated before the orcs submitted to him. Even then, Ulfhak executed their leaders. Now, with a united army, "The Scourge" intends to drive southward and invade the lands of Elves and Men...

Ulfhak stands out from the orcs in many ways. He is not as stunted as they are, and stands almost straight. He is more muscular and stronger than his fellow warriors, and has the mind of an expert strategist. However, Ulfhak remains fiercely loyal to Sauron and even he will cower before a foe far stronger than him. He wears spiny orc armour and carries a spear and a short sword.

His army numbers in 20,000 strong. They have been trained to march (or at least shuffle) in disciplined ranks, and wear better armour. Their weapons remain crude, but their helms cover their head save for eye slits for protection from the sun. Ulfhak's archers are good shots, but are still inferior to Elves. His army is supported by two cave trolls.

The elite of his army, however, consist of his Warg Riders. When Ulfhak discovered these wolf beasts during the Orc strife in the Iron Hills, he used them to tear enemy tribesmen apart. He now rides one to lead his troops to battle. The Warg Riders are almost fearless in battle.
