Hecate is a wood's wraith, a creature born of the magick a deep wood contains within its leafy and rustling bower. No one knows quite where he came from, or how long he has been in existence, as he is the only one of his kind. It is rumored he has witnessed the mists of history, when all of Middle Earth was forest, before he Earth grumbled and the Western Sea first was created to lap upon its shores. Some say he is the First Ent, transmutated to watch over the others and keep a sharp eye out for the protection of precious woods and forests everywhere. He is constantly in the air, going about in the guise of a golden nighthawk, but he does have a more humanoid form. In that form he is of muscular build, with ashy-golden hair, and about 5'8" tall. While he prefers to wear his cloak of feathers and fly freely in the skies, or swoop amidst his beloved trees, and rarely goes about in his humanoid form, he sometimes will wear a combination of the two, showing physical characteristics of both humanoid and hawk. At sometime in fairly recent Middle Earth history he came across the fair Daughter of the Moon, Eirianna, who was out upon her trusty steed Gorfynt. Sensing a deep love in her heart for forest and wood, he befriended her, and has since come to be faithful companion to her and her eyes for all things which occur beyond Wydde's Wood. |
