vader theroy

Why Vader doesn't know who Luke is until Ep5...

He conceives the twins with Padme and then goes off to war..
He's away so long and the kids are born and split up..
Later he finds that Padme's been hiding something from him and in his rage,
he goes looking for her..
Two years after the kids are born, he catches up to her and somehow she dies
or disappears..

Fast forward to Ep4..
The DS1 is constructed and he's got a cushy government job keeping everyone
in line..
Then some kid he doesn't know who happens to be strong in the Force blows it
up..
After recovering control of his TIE and jetting off someplace (it's the only
TIE with a hyperdrive), he starts to research this kid who blew up the DS1
through his intelligence network..
Shortly before Ep5 he discovers that the kid's name is Skywalker and starts
a galaxy-wide hunt for him to see who he really is

end of theroy

everything

Cliegg Lars had 2 sons (and a wife at one point)

The oldest son must have been given as an infant over to the Jedi.

His given name might have been Ben Lars. His Jedi name was Obi-Wan
Kenobi.

The younger son was named Owen Lars. He was raised by his father, and
perhaps his stepmother.

Cleigg Lars will be married to Shmi Skywalker in Episode 2.

She helped raise Owen. Owen helped complete C-3PO and replaced the son
she gave up to the Jedi.

They may or may not still be slaves, but apparently she didn't need her
natural son Anakin to be happy.

Anakin feels jealousy from fear. Fear leads to anger...anger leads to
(at least contempt in this case), but
obviously suffering. This is NOT what makes him go over to the Dark
Side, but it adds to the weight of
things that befall him.

Obi-Wan and Owen are natural brothers.

Obi-Wan and Anakin are master and apprentice.

Now Obi-Wan and Anakin and Owen are all brothers.

Uncle Owen is really Anakin's son's -Luke's -uncle.

Shmi Lars (a Lucas-registered domain name) becomes Obi-Wan's stepmother
now, too. Her wishes for
her natural son may undermine what her step-son wants or thinks best for
his young Jedi Apprentice,
Anakin (such as whether the Jedi will be allowed to marry Padme
Naberrie). Obi-Wan may be opposed to the wedding, but "Mom" insists.

When she's killed (in I-don't-know-which-movie, I heard Episode Two
now), Anakin will blame Obi-Wan for making him run off on "some damned
fool idealistic crusade (During the Clone Wars)" instead of staying and
protecting their family. THEIR family. He will say Obi-Wan only knew the
Jedi way (and love for Qui-Gon as a father) and never loved his (THEIR)
mother (stepmother) the way Anakin did. He's rendered useless to his
mother:

-didn't rescue her from slavery (maybe)
-didn't be her son (Owen may have filled that role)
-didn't be her Light (Cliegg obviously made her happy)
-didn't save her life (because he listened to Obi-Wan, who followed the
Jedi Code)

This will all NOT be enough to make him turn to the Dark Side. There is
more (Padme, obviously) and
more after that.

I suspect his "immaculate conception" was unable to be explained by Shmi
because she feared for her life
if she "explained what happened" because he may have been genetically
engineered by the Sith to have
that many midi-chlorians, and they used a slave they could hide to be
his surrogate mother.

Thus his own mother LIED to him -after all he felt for her, and after
losing her (when she's killed and he
was broken by it). Then he learns the truth. She knew all along and
hoped Qui-Gon could get her son out
of there, and not let him befall the fate the Sith had planned for him.
Watch her reactions in the movie.
She knows -when she watches Qui-Gon send Obi-Wan the blood sample, etc.

The key plot revelation that might ruin Anakin after:

losing his mother
losing his wife
falling away from trusting Obi-Wan

and then he will be finding out not "i am your father," but "I am your
maker!" -possibly by his darkest
enemy!

That's why there are midi-chlorians. They're going to try to clone them
to make obedient, Force-strong
warriors who will be more efficient than Battle Droids and much less of
a threat than Palpatine (as
Chancellor) trusting his luck at controlling the Jedi Knights (the
Chancellor doesn't CONTROL them anyway -in theory).

Anakin might have been their first successful "experiment." Or Shmi
might have rescued her son -even by choosing slavery out there so no one
would look for them (on a different possible tangent).

That and a terrible lightsaber fight (with Obi-Wan), punishment by being
defeated by the Dark Side, too
(and subjected to his body being destroyed) will all combine to make
Darth Vader.

Anakin will give up: he couldn't do anything right, inspite of being
"The Chosen One" and he lost
everyone he had. And then he found out he was "Born to be Bad."

That's the formula.

It's going to be awesome!

The Facts:

Cliegg Lars is played by Australian Actor Tom Jackson

Owen by Joel Edgerton

Shmi Lars is a registered character name to be portrayed by Pernilla
August (whom I've heard is in all 3
movies as Anakin's mom, conflicting with just Episode 2 and her apparent
death in this movie).

Owen was always Obi-Wan's brother until this year when that tid-bit was
removed from "The Guide to
the Star Wars Universe, Third Edition" published by Del Rey. Look up
Owen under "O" in the second
edition published in 1994, the first edition, or read The Annotated
Screenplays (I think -or the original
screenplay) to Return of the Jedi when Obi-Wan explains to Luke he was
taken as an infant to be raised
by Obi-Wan's brother, Owen. The Radio Drama to Return of the Jedi
contains the same information,
when Obi-Wan's spirit counsels Luke shortly after Yoda dies.

This information was likely omitted not because Lucas would change it
after 17 years, but because he
wants it to be a surprise for non-DieHard-fans.

Look under "Episode 2" and look for the locked thread marked "Definitive Plotline." Prepare for spoilers galore!
