The Eye of R’lous is a large crystal once believed to be a powerful source of Sith Magick. In the very ancient days, the Eye was placed upon a staff which was held by the Dark Lord of the Sorcerers. The original disappeared 500 years before the rule of Aelvedaar, stolen by the traitor Trelanicus, then Dark Lord of the Sorcerers, and destroyed in a suicidal escape attempt. The next Dark Lord, S’Helaroos, commissioned a new Eye of R’lous from the Weapons Clan. In time, the belief in the Eye as a source of Sith Magick died since the race lost no abilities with the destruction of the original. The tradition of the Dark Lord carrying the staff also died, and the second Eye is now safely sealed in the secret vaults of the Temple of the Sorcerers. The Eye has a sentient spirit dwelling within it, bound by the power of the Sith magick that created it yet powerful itself and determined to maintain a balance between good and evil within the magick, as well as the use of magick and the All.
