The Darkness is the embodiment of power within the Darker Realms. It flows all about the Realms, touching every thing within it, but remains it’s own entity. It sat quietly for eons, basking in its own power and allowing others to lay claim to the leadership of the Realms. But with events as of late the Darkness has come to the forefront to let it be known that it truly exists.And now it has taken control once again of the Darker Realms, it has made its priority to bolster and expand the influence of this land. It had made a deal with The Master to take control of the Dark Lord Phalomir, planning to bring its essence and power into the Sith and drawn together the realms of the Light and Darkness, making a being more powerful than anything either plane of existence had seen.
But that deal turned sour when the Darkness was interrupted by Graysith and Shayla, and was forced to retreat into the Master himself. This relationship came to an end when the Master was attacked in his fortress within the Black Tower by Lord Roan. The Tower was destroyed, and the Darkness left the Master. But at that instant it manifested a piece of itself within the soul of Graysith.
Now the Darkness is putting plans into motion once again, using Graysith and now Shayla to maneuver within the two other realms of existence it needs to prepare, the Realm of Light (our realm) and the Elseness.
When seen by those outside of the Darker Realms, the Darkness manifests itself in two ways. One is a slick, oily mass that moves and feels like a glob of oily goo. The other is a strange and grotesque human-shaped man of tar. This is what appeared to Phalomir when he was a boy, and the Master had tried to trade him to the Darkness, and is what Phalomir refers to constantly as the “Tar Man”.
