One aspect of the Darker Realms, Kieran is a living embodiment of that place. Unlike Entaris, who is the embodiment of the evil of the realm, Kieran is the living representative of the passion, duty, and "self" of the realm. The thing that is Kieran has attached itself physically to the body of a clone of Phalomir. Having Sith blood, this body does have a connection to same inherent Sith magick that PHalomir does. However, Kieran does not know how to use it. Any powers (control of elements, energy blasts, etc) come through the accidental combination of dark energies of the Darker Realms interacting with the symbiotic properties of the Sith blood.
Kieran's personality is driven completely by what he represents. The Darker Realms is complex and its spirit will spawn physical manifestations that retain parts of its character. Entaris was the physical being that represented the evil of the Realm. Kieran is the manifestation of the passion and self-awareness of the Realm. Hence his need to be within a physical body.
Kieran was once a body of gelatinous tar. His desire for a body of flesh was so great that he made a deal with The Master. The Master knew that Phalomir was special -- bred to unite the Sith in a time when they were the most divided -- and could provide the perfect host for an embodiment of the Darker Realms. Kieran would be fused with Phalomir, and in exchange would save the Sith from the enemies that were foreseen to bring its extinction.
What the Master did not know was that the Phalomir he presented was an imperfect clone. Unable to wield the power that has been promised, the new physical Kieran attacked The Master and left him for dead.
Now racked with insecurities and paranoia because of the limitations of his power, Kieran seeks to solidify his status and ensure his transformation was not a mistake.
